I’m not a big gamer… in fact I’m not a gamer at all. I usually feel a palpable wasting of my life while playing most video games. That said, I think Garrett’s post sold me on the Wii. It seems appealing for the exact reasons that I usually don’t find games appealing. Creative, uniquely fun with an interesting community aspect. I also like the idea of games that I can pick up whenever and not get sucked into hours of some deep, complex story.
Oddly, flying directly in the face of that last rule, my one exception to my stance on video games is Zelda. I love Zelda. I have played every single Zelda game (yes, even the egregious Zelda II) since the original and it remains the only game I’m willing to put my life on pause for. I wasn’t willing to spring for the Wii for Zelda alone but the included sports games seem to round it all out.
